IMPORTANT Service Update
- Due to significant traffic congestion and road closures in Belfast city centre relating to the Grand Central Station (GCS) public realm works, our sample drop-off service is temporarily unavailable. We hope to restart this service by the end of November 2025, when the GCS works are completed and the roads are reopened.
- Onsite Production Required: All samples must be produced onsite using the dedicated facilities at our Belfast laboratory hub.

Important Information
- Drop-off time: 30 minutes from sample production (for Semen Analysis + Exact and/or Extend tests); maximum 50 minutes from sample production for Exact and/or Extend tests (i.e. without semen analysis)
- Abstinence period: no less than 48 hours and no more than 7 days
- Our Semen Analysis clinic is on Fridays only.
- We do not currently offer a Post-Vasectomy Semen Analysis service.
Your Results
- Results will be ready 7–10 days from receipt of the samples at Examen Lab in Belfast.
- If you booked your test directly with Examen, your results will be issued directly to you by secure email.
- If you booked your test via a referral, your results will be sent via secure email to your referring clinician.
