How information about you will be used

For your sample to be tested by ExamenLab Ltd, we will need to record various pieces of information about you. We need this information so that we can make sure that your result can be used to give you the best health care information. Whenever we can, we will remove details which identify you. Everyone working for ExamenLab Ltd has a legal duty to keep information about you confidential and we strictly control the passing of information to people not directly involved in your treatment.

The following explains why we will need to collect the information and what we will do with it.

Your information will:

• Help staff to review the test result they provide and make sure it is of the highest standard.
• Help us train and educate our staff.
• Help us share some information about you with other people treating you. It means we can all work together for your benefit.
• Help us investigate any complaints.
• Help with research. All research we undertake will approved by a Research Ethics Committee. All data will be anonymised.
• Help us to help you to manage and plan future services.
