2025 in Retrospect: A Year of Growth, Innovation and Impact

As 2025 comes to a close, we are taking a moment to reflect on all the incredible things that happened this year. From launching new services to advancing research and raising awareness about male fertility, this year has been nothing short of transformative.

Extending Our Services

At the beginning of 2025, we proudly launched the Extend Test, a truly ground-breaking addition to our male fertility diagnostics. This test, which focuses on double-strand DNA fragmentation, has already had a significant impact on hundreds of people’s fertility journeys.

Commitment to Quality and Standards

This year, we maintained and extended our industry-leading certifications, ensuring the highest standards in our services:

  • ISO 13485:2016 certification maintained.
  • ISO 15189:2022 accreditation maintained for Exact and extended to cover our Semen Analysis Service and Extend testing services.

These accreditations reflect our unwavering commitment to quality and excellence in fertility diagnostics.

ReproMed

New Hubs in Ireland

We partnered with ReproMed in Dublin and Galway to make our testing service more accessible to patients in Ireland. This collaboration highlights our commitment to bringing top fertility diagnostics to people worldwide.

Advancing Male Fertility Research

Examen’s dedication to research continues to drive innovation in the field of male fertility diagnostics. This year, we published the results of a significant study with our collaborators in Hewitt, Liverpool, who use our Exact and Extend tests in their clinics. This article, which appeared in Reproductive Biomedicine Online, evidenced a role for double-strand sperm DNA fragmentation in male partners of couples who experience recurrent early pregnancy loss (ERP).

Raising Awareness on Male Fertility

This year, we launched and participated in several impactful campaigns to raise awareness about male reproductive health.

  • Infertility Conversations in Northern Ireland: We supported discussions with the Northern Ireland government to bring attention to male fertility issues.
  • Men’s Health Awareness Month: We partnered with The Fertility Podcast to highlight the often-overlooked role of sperm DNA fragmentation in fertility.
  • Advertising Campaigns: From bus advertisements to a prominent presence at Grand Central Station, we made sure the message about male fertility reached a wider audience.

Through these efforts, we’ve reached thousands of individuals, sparking important conversations about male fertility and its role in family planning.

Awards & Recognitions

We were honoured to have received multiple awards this year, celebrating our commitment to innovation and diagnostic excellence:

  • Award for Diagnostic Excellence at the Life Sciences Industry Awards (June 5, 2025).
  • Highly Commended for Innovation at the Belfast Chamber Awards (October 17, 2025).
  • Innovative Company of the Year at the AIB Business Eye Awards (November 20, 2025).

These accolades are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team.

With new research, collaborations, and innovations on the horizon, we remain committed to advancing male fertility diagnostics and supporting families on their fertility journeys.
