Examen’s CEO Receives OBE for Research, Innovation and Education

We are proud to share that Professor Tara Moore, Ulster University and CEO and Laboratory Director of Examen, has been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by His Majesty the King for her services to Research, Innovation and Education in the New Year Honours List 2026.

Professor Moore is an internationally recognised leader in personalised medicine, with over 25 years of a distinguished career advancing understanding of how DNA influences health and disease.

Her research has been widely published in leading international journals, books, and patents. At Ulster University, Tara spearheaded the teaching of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, raising standards for Ophthalmology surgery globally. Together, this body of work has helped establish Professor Moore as a respected authority in personalised medicine.

Alongside academia, Professor Moore has demonstrated outstanding leadership in research-driven industry. Since taking on leadership at Examen, she has helped drive forward the clinical development and use of DNA diagnostics, contributing to evolving the understanding of male infertility, reason for recurrent miscarriage and failed IVF.

Her innovative work allows DNA diagnostics to support clinical decision-making, providing clearer, evidence-based insights to clinicians and patients across the UK, Ireland and Europe. This honour recognises a lifetime of contribution, and its impact will continue to be felt nationally and globally for decades to come.
