Examen, Belfast offers both sample production and sample drop-off. The sample must be dropped off to our lab within 1 hour of being produced for both semen analysis and Exact tests. All sperm sample deposits must be arranged by appointment.

Book a semen analysis test or an Exact® test at Examen, Belfast online now, call +44 (0)28 9023 8915 or email lab@examenlab.com.

An appointment is required for both sample drop off or on site production. Our opening hours are 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

If you have been referred for an Exact test or Semen Analysis by your GP or fertility practitioner, please provide your referral letter and note the referring clinic/clinician on the Test Request Form.

• Onsite Production

For onsite production, a sample collection kit is not required, this will be provided at the appointment.

Once your order has been placed, you will receive an order confirmation email. When this has been received, email bookings@examenlab.com with your order number and ask for the next available appointment. Appointments must be booked at least 2 business days in advance.

Please note our Semen Analysis clinic is Friday only. Post Vasectomy service is currently unavailable. 

• Home Sample Collection kit

For home sample production, a sample collection home kit is required. This contains a sample pot, instructions and Test Request Form to take with you to the drop off appointment. Please provide a postal address and we will send this to you within 3–5 business days.

Once you have received your kit, please read the instructions carefully. To schedule an appointment to drop off your sample, email bookings@examenlab.com with you order number and ask for the next available appointment. Appointments must be booked at least 2 business days in advance.

Additional Information

• Recommended drop-off time is 30 minutes from sample production, maximum 1 hour
• Abstinence period: 2–5 days

Receiving Your Results

• Our turnaround time is 7–10 days from receipt of the sample to Examen Lab, Belfast
• If you booked your test directly with Examen, results will be issued to you by secure email
• If you were referred to Examen by a partner clinic, your results will be issued to the referring clinician by secure email
